The “Alexander Valley-the heart of Sonoma’s wine country” illustrative map is a tribute to one of California’s most celebrated wine regions.

Alexander Valley is one of the key winegrowing areas in California’s Sonoma County. It is one of the warmer parts of Sonoma, with vineyards stretching from the edges of the Russian river up into the foothills of the Mayacamas mountains that separate Sonoma from Napa.

I am excited to include the Alexander Valley, in a portfolio of California cities and regions I have illustrated over the last 20 years.

Outside of Napa, Alexander Valley is one of the most important regions for Cabernet Sauvignon in California, and as a result, some of the state’s most famous wine producers have vineyards here.

The majority of Alexander Valley’s vineyards are on the benchlands on the eastern side of the river, where the southwesterly aspect and alluvial gravel soils provide an excellent terroir for Cabernet Sauvignon.

The “Alexander Valley-the heart of Sonoma’s wine country” illustrative map will be available for distribution Fall/Winter 2019. 

The illustrative map will be used as a promotional tool over the next 2 years. The 2,000,  19″ X 27″ illustrative maps will be distributed in local stores, visitor centers and venues at key locations throughout Sonoma County and Bay Area over the next 2 years. The illustrative maps will also be distributed by sponsoring companies and available online.
