The “Bellingham – The Neighborhoods of the City of Subdued Excitement” poster is a tribute to an amazing city and its numerous unique neighborhoods. The City of Bellingham is home to over 23 different neighborhoods. All of Bellingham’s Neighborhoods are unique in character and design and make for an incredibly liveable city.

Fairhaven
Bellingham, Washington is a city rich in culture, entertainment, and history. It is primarily made up of neighborhoods with vast differences. Bellingham has some of the most beautiful views of anywhere in the US. There’s a laid-back feeling to the residents of this community. The Bellingham neighborhoods offer everything from small modest craftsman style homes built in the 1800s to newly constructed multimillion-dollar mansions overlooking the Bellingham Bay.

York
The name of Bellingham is derived from Bellingham Bay, the bay on which the city is situated. George Vancouver, who visited the area in June 1792, named the bay for Sir William Bellingham, the comptroller of the storekeeper’s account of the Royal Navy.

Downtown
I am excited to include Bellingham, in a portfolio of important cities and regions I have illustrated over the last 20 years. As an artist, I have created edition posters celebrating cities and regions around the country. Some of those include San Francisco, Boston, Davis, Silicon Valley, Sacramento, Watsonville, Lake Tahoe, Route 128, Half Moon Bay, Ventura, New York City, Wall Street, Palo Alto, Pasadena, the Tannery Arts Center and Santa Cruz just to name a few.

Bellingham Jump Park
Bellingham has traditionally had a natural advantage of drawing many diverse and highly acclaimed acts to perform at various venues due to being located on a major highway halfway between two major cities. The presence of a large university-age population has helped Bellingham become home to a number of regionally and nationally noted musical groups

Whatcom Falls Park
Whatcom Falls Park is a 241-acre large public park encompassing the Whatcom Creek gorge, running directly through the heart of the city. It has four sets of waterfalls and several miles of walking trails, and is a hub of outdoor activity connecting and defining several different neighborhoods of Bellingham
