Portland, OR – The Neighborhoods of the City of Roses

The “Portland, OR – The Neighborhoods of the City of Roses” poster is a tribute to one of this country’s great cities and its numerous unique neighborhoods that make this city truly amazing.  Portland is a hip town, no matter how you look at it. Among its many green patches, lively neighborhoods gather ‘round bustling main streets, each offering their own unique flavors, festivities, and attractions. It’s much more than you can see in a day.

Nob Hill

Close to Forest Park, as well as the Rose and Japanese Gardens, Northwest Portland and Nob Hill are the perfect stomping grounds for nature lovers and urbanites alike. Stroll past stunning Victorians and Craftsman mansions and keep walking west to see them fade into the tall trees of the nearby woods.

Hillsboro

There are 95 officially recognized neighborhoods in Portland, plus several more areas that people think are neighborhoods but aren’t. Many of these started out as separate communities that were later consolidated into Portland, and many of them have their roots in the great land rush of the 1850s.

Multnomah Village

I am excited to include Portland, in a portfolio of important cities and regions I have illustrated over the last 20 years. As an artist, I have created edition posters celebrating cities and regions around the country. Some of those include San Francisco, Boston, Davis, Silicon Valley, Sacramento, Watsonville, Lake Tahoe, Route 128, Half Moon Bay, Ventura, New York City, Wall Street, Palo Alto, Pasadena, the Tannery Arts Center and Santa Cruz just to name a few.

Downtown

Beyond its obvious appeal, the heart of the City of Roses lies in its neighborhoods. Portland’s unique neighborhoods have distinct personalities. The mixture of culture, art and architecture define the areas where residents choose to live. The ability to quickly access neighborhood cafes in one direction, or nature trails in another, is a unique characteristic in the Portland’s urban neighborhoods.
